Our students need your input
The Chamber’s Education and Business Committee and the School to Careers Partnership are conducting a survey of local business.
We’re collecting input from local businesses on two things: (1) what entry-level skills and hiring challenges you’re seeing, and (2) whether you’d be open to simple school partnerships like career panels, job shadows, internships, or student help with project-based tasks.
The survey takes about 2–3 minutes. Even if you’re not interested in partnering right now, your response is still valuable (you can submit quickly).
REN Anyone?
I’ve recently been approached by a few new members about starting a new Referral Exchange Networking (REN) group. What is REN you ask? REN groups function for the purpose of providing Chamber members with a regular, ongoing opportunity to develop relationships, new business opportunities, and actively network with other members. Only one profession is allowed per group. The groups meet twice monthly, although a newly formed group could set its own schedule. If you are interested please email me at tom@nrrchamber.com.
World Cup Resource Center
If you attended our Annual Meeting last month then you know that the World Cup Soccer tournament is coming to Boston. 7 games will be played at Gillette (Boston) Stadium in June and July. This can be an opportunity for local businesses to capitalize on in influx of 2 million visitors to the region.
To that end, the Chamber has been compiling information about the event, and we have created a dedicated World Cup Soccer resource page on our website. Check it out here.
You can find information on game schedules, transportation options, marketing opportunities and much more!
We will continue to update information and opportunities as we receive them, so check back often.
